When required, the ‘NEAT-A-WARD’® can be deployed, in literally seconds, to provide rest, or overnight accommodation for both Mum and Dad!
It will comfortably cope with loadings of up to 200Kg, for single beds and 400Kg for doubles, will give years of trouble-free service and is GUARANTEED FOR A FULL 5 YEARS.
The ‘NEAT-A-WARD’® Patient Wall Bed comes in a range of standard and
made-to-measure, single and double sizes and in 15 bedframe colours.
Special features include a super-strong, heavy-duty, hand-welded,
powder-coated, tubular steel frame, for extra durability and a unique
pre-tensioned, firm, woven-steel mesh base, (no wooden slats, or
'foundations' to break), which is guaranteed never to sag, or unravel
and allows air to circulate freely around the mattress and bedding, even
when the bed is folded away.
Automatically opening and retracting front legs and heavy-duty
counterbalancing springs, make for safe,
smooth and easy operation.
The ‘WISKAWAY’® 'NEAT-A-WARD'®
Patient Wall
Bed comes complete with wipe-clean, flexible bedding retaining strap(s).
These are permanently attached to the head end and are simply stretched
across, when the bed has been made in the morning and hooked on to the
foot end, to hold the mattress and all the bedding - including the
pillows - securely in place when the bed is folded away - (see picture 7 above).
Because the 'NEAT-A-WARD'® is counterbalanced, it must be
securely fixed to the floor/wall.
To complement our 'NEAT-A-WARD'® Patient Wall Beds, we offer our
high specification, wipe-clean/waterproof ‘MEDIFLEX’® foam
Mattress with removable (zip-on/off) cover, which is flame retardant to
Ignition Source 5.
The cabinetwork in which the ‘NEAT-A-WARD’® and other medical equipment
are housed, is typically architect designed, on a project by project,
basis and supplied by the main contractor building, or fitting out the Birth
Centre, but we are also able to supply cabinetwork to house the
‘NEAT-A-WARD’® in a wide range of wipe-clean MFC, or Plastic Laminate
finshes, or real veneers.
Our ‘WISKAWAY’® 'NEAT-A-WARD'® Patient Wall Bed started life,
in single bed form, as one of many special client projects – in this case to
develop a wallbed specifically for use on Day Surgery units for 2 Hospitals
in the North of England. Whilst our other wallbed models are designed
primarily to accommodate patients’ relatives overnight, the ‘NEAT-A-WARD’®
is designed for use by the patients themselves.
When opened out ready for use, the ‘NEAT-A-WARD’® is higher off the ground
than other wallbeds, for more convenient nursing access and additionally
incorporates a sloping back rest, against which the patient can be propped up on
pillows. This back rest is deployed automatically as the bed is lowered and
slides down out of the way again, as the bed is folded-away. We offer a
choice of 2 different back rests – a tubular steel, version, resembling a
traditional Hospital bed back rest and a wipe-clean MFC version, in an outer steel
frame.
As well as being suitable for use on Day Surgery units, the single
‘NEAT-A-WARD’® is ideal for company and school Sick Rooms, as it can be
folded away, ready made up for the next patient, when not needed and then
deployed, in literally seconds, when required.
The ‘WISKAWAY’® 'NEAT-A-WARD'® Patient Wall Bed is
used on Day Surgery units at The James Cook University Hospital in
Middlesbrough and The Friarage Hospital in Northallerton and, in
increasing numbers of Birthing units including those at the Royal
Preston Infirmary, Chorley Hospital, Wallsall Hospital, North Manchester General Hospital,
the Sandwell Midwife-Led Birthing Centre, The Medway Maritime Hospital
in Gillingham and the Rosie Hospital in
Cambridge.
A major application for the double ‘NEAT-A-WARD’® Patient Wall
Bed is its use as
the main bed in the new generation of no-hospital-bed Midwifery-Led Birth
Centres.
These centres are primarily intended to handle
births which are expected to be straightforward. The idea here is for
the rooms to look as little as possible like a Hospital room and the
‘NEAT-A-WARD’®, which may not be used on every occasion, is stored
away, ready made up, behind bi-fold doors, in a row of fitted cabinets,
together with other (medical) equipment.
